Built in 1267 by will of the venetian Lorenzo Tiepolo, sets on a small promontory, in  defence of the ancient port against the Saracen and pirate raids. On the south arch there is a headstone with two fortresses and three towers. Over it we see a crest, with  a four-armed cross and the papal two crossed keys.
